13th Finance Commission has recommended Rs.65.00 Crores for preservation and protection of Ancient Monuments and Buddhist Heritage in the State. The amount is to be utilized during three years (2012-13 to 2014-15).
Odisha State Archaeology and OIMSEAS have been provided Rs. 53.00 Crores and 12.00 Crores respectively for the above purpose.
Accordingly, State Archaeology has prepared the Plan of Action for preservation and conservation of 295 monuments of the State for three years i.e. 2012-13 to 2014-15.
The Plan of Action was approved in HLMC on 8.5.12 and conservation works started during June 2012.
As decided by Government, INTACH has been involved in the conservation work and 26 nos. of monuments assigned to INTACH.
